Blake Griffin Marries the Founder Who Built Frankies Bikinis at 17
A rep confirmed the marriage to People on Sunday ... the same week Griffin's new show launches and Aiello's brand already counts Sweeney, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner among its collaborators.
Engage ↓Blake Griffin is married. A representative confirmed the marriage to People magazine on October 19, and the gold band Griffin was wearing at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show the night before was apparently not just an accessory. No wedding date or location has been shared publicly. The ceremony, whenever it happened, was private.
The clues had been there since September. TMZ photographed the couple in Porto Ercole, Italy with Kendall Jenner and a group of friends in what the outlet described as "what looks like their wedding weekend." Neither Griffin nor Aiello confirmed it at the time.
She Co-Founded Frankies Bikinis in Her Mom's Living Room at 17
Francesca Aiello built Frankies Bikinis starting in 2012 alongside her mother Mimi, working out of their Malibu home when Francesca was approximately 17 years old. The brand started as custom bikinis for friends and spread via Instagram before expanding into women's clothing, accessories, children's clothing, and beauty.
The collaborator list reads like a call sheet for a brand that knows exactly what it is doing: Bella Hadid, Pamela Anderson, Sydney Sweeney, Naomi Osaka, Hailee Steinfeld, and Gigi Hadid. NYLON profiled the brand's rise as a case study in what Instagram-era DTC brands can look like when the founder is also the creative director from day one.
Griffin Retired and Then Got Busy
Griffin announced his NBA retirement on April 16, 2024, after 14 seasons, six All-Star selections, and stints with the Clippers, Pistons, Nets, and Celtics. He averaged 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game over his career.
The day after the marriage confirmation, his new show "The Stepback with Blake Griffin" premieres on YouTube and Prime Video. Griffin has described it as a program that draws on formats like The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight, approached from "his unique lens as a veteran player, sports dad, and lifelong superfan." When asked earlier about wedding planning, he told People: "It's been pretty chill, but I'm sure it will ramp up or something."
Two Playbooks, One Partnership
Aiello built a brand from scratch at 17, using Instagram as her distribution channel before that was an obvious thing to do. Griffin spent 14 years building a sports career and is now building a second identity in media and commentary. The marriage confirmation landing the night before his show premiere is either very good timing or very good management. Probably both.
What is genuinely interesting here is that both of them made the same bet: that a personal brand built on consistent creative output compounds over time. She made custom bikinis for friends and ended up with Bella Hadid and Sydney Sweeney wearing her designs. He dunked on people for a living and ended up with a late-night adjacent show about the culture of the sport. The question for both of them now is whether one brand amplifies the other, or whether they stay deliberately separate.
