Florence Pugh Walks the BFI Carpet With Finn Cole: 'Solid and Safe'
She kept the relationship private for 16 months. The first public outing was at a Bvlgari gala ... two months before Bvlgari made her an ambassador. At BFI, she wore Wiederhoeft.
Go Where No Reader Has Gone Before ↓Florence Pugh and Finn Cole stepped onto the red carpet together Thursday at the Vue West End premiere of 'In the Shadows' at the 70th BFI London Film Festival ... giving the relationship its first official public moment after 16 months of careful privacy.
Pugh wore a lavender-and-silver corseted gown from the Wiederhoeft Spring 2027 collection, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, with a bedazzled sweetheart neckline, halter straps, and a shimmering metallic skirt. Cole wore a suit and tie. Both are 30. Cole plays Ramla Ali's husband in the film, directed by Anthony Wonke, about Britain's first female Muslim boxing champion.
Pugh first mentioned the relationship in a October 2024 British Vogue interview, though the two had been linked since July 2024. She confirmed it without fanfare: no joint interview, no magazine shoot, no shared Instagram at launch.
The Bvlgari Trail
The first public couple appearance was in March 2026 at the Bvlgari Eclettica gala in Milan. Two months later, Bvlgari announced Pugh as a global brand ambassador on May 18, joining Dua Lipa, Anne Hathaway, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the Italian jewelry house's roster.
Pugh said of the deal: "Becoming a Bvlgari ambassador is about more than wearing jewelry. It represents joining a family of artists." The gala and the announcement are eight weeks apart. No one is saying the timing was coordinated. The calendar just is what it is.
At BFI, Pugh wore Wiederhoeft. Not Bvlgari. Her stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray dressed the moment, and the moment was personal rather than promotional. A brand ambassador choosing an emerging New York designer for the occasion she decided to go public as part of a couple is the kind of detail that either means everything or nothing.
The Privacy Calculus
"I feel solid and safe and sturdy," Pugh told AOL about the relationship. "The important thing is that we're happy."
Pugh's previous public relationship, a four-year romance with Zach Braff that ended in 2023, played out largely in commentary she did not invite. The age gap, 21 years, made the pairing a permanent topic wherever it went. This time, she controlled the reveal: a Vogue interview, a brand event, and then a film festival carpet. Each step on her own schedule.
"In the Shadows" is Cole's most prominent role since Peaky Blinders and Animal Kingdom. The BFI premiere is the film's launch moment. Pugh stepped into frame for exactly that. Whether it earns wide distribution or stays in the festival circuit, the red carpet chapter of this relationship officially started at a film that matters to Cole's career. That choice was not accidental.
