Katt Williams Drops Memoir: 'Will Smith Knows What I Haven't Told'
He says the Club Shay Shay interview had its best lines cut. Now there is a book. He has dropped two names, and the 336 pages come out today.
Set Phasers to Browse ↓Katt Williams' "Nine Lives, No Wives, and 69 Concubines" hit shelves today, arriving midway through his five-city book tour. He narrates the audiobook himself. The foreword comes from Shaquille O'Neal. Keke Palmer and Samuel L. Jackson left blurbs. It is 336 pages and covers a life that started inside the Jehovah's Witnesses and did not get easier from there.
Williams left the church at 13, hitchhiked to Florida, and spent years in odd jobs before stand-up became an option. He financed his own early tours. He was not picked up through any of the standard comedy development pipelines. Gallery Books published the title under its 13A imprint.
The Knockout Punches Were Cut
In February 2026, on Big Boy's Off Air, Williams described the Club Shay Shay interview from January 2024 as edited to its detriment. "The knockout punches were taken out, just leaving the jabs," he said. That interview, a four-hour conversation with Shannon Sharpe, had broken the internet: Williams named peers, accused the industry of specific practices, and gave his account of how Hollywood actually functions. He said a more aggressive version of that conversation exists somewhere.
"I'm not scared to say nothing. I'll say it," Williams told Big Boy. He named Will Smith and Eddie Murphy as people who know things he has not said publicly.
The Will Smith Drop Is Not an Accident
Williams knows exactly what happens when he mentions Will Smith. The name is a search engine: it generates traffic, speculation, and arguments the moment it appears. Dropping it alongside a memoir launch, in a sentence that says Smith knows things Williams has kept quiet, is a move with clear strategic intent. Whether the book delivers on that tension or reserves it for a later platform is a question 336 pages can answer today.
Williams has a fourth Netflix special, "The Last Report," in production. He won an Emmy in 2018 for his guest role on "Atlanta." His 2026 film "One of Them Days" extended his streak of surviving an industry that had spent years predicting otherwise. The book tour puts him in rooms with audiences every few nights through October 25. He is running this campaign by himself, for himself, with no institutional backing visible anywhere in it.
