Jessica Sutta Was a "Liability." The Reunion Barely Sold.
The Pussycat Dolls cut three original members to "protect our peace." Then cancelled most of their North American tour dates.
Take Me There, Scotty ↓Jessica Sutta's time as a Pussycat Doll ended in 2010 ... her feelings about the reunion that left her out are just getting started.
"I'm not going to lip-sync 'Don't Ya' behind Nicole ever again," Sutta told The Sun this week. "When it first happened, it broke my heart."
The tour Sutta is refusing is the PCD Forever Tour, launched in June 2026 to mark 20 years of the group's debut album. Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt are the headlining lineup. Sutta, Carmit Bachar, and Melody Thornton were not invited. None of them were told until the announcement went public.
Sutta has been direct about what she thinks happened. "I was a liability," she told The Maverick Approach earlier this year. "I align with Bobby Kennedy, which is aligning with MAGA. Yeah, I am. I triple down on it." She tried to reach founder Robin Antin for months after hearing reunion rumors. Antin did not respond. She called Scherzinger on the day the reunion was announced. Scherzinger did not answer.
The group's only public statement on the exclusions, per Newsweek, was that they needed to "protect our peace." No one on the Scherzinger side has addressed the MAGA claim.
There is a harder question underneath all of that: did the commercial calculation actually pay off? In May, Billboard reported the Pussycat Dolls cancelled all but one of their North American tour dates after sluggish ticket sales. The Palm Springs opening night moved around 4,000 of 11,000 available seats, per Consequence Sound. Live Nation discounted remaining seats to $30. Thousands stayed empty.
The trio made a brand bet: narrow the lineup, reduce the liability, book the big rooms, charge premium prices. European and UK dates were a different story, largely selling out. North America declined the offer. What reads as a clean brand rebuild in press releases ran up against an audience that apparently wanted the whole group, or did not want it enough at those prices in those venues.
Sutta, for her part, is not celebrating the numbers. She has said she still has respect for Scherzinger's artistry and was genuinely happy about her 2025 Tony Award for Sunset Blvd. What she cannot make peace with is being told about the reunion the same way the public was: through a social media announcement.
The remaining dates run through October 30 in Sao Paulo. After that, whatever the PCD reunion brand is worth will be clearer. Sutta has already worked out her answer.
