Hollow Finds Its Ichabod Crane as Galitzine Enters Final Talks
Nicholas Galitzine is reportedly closing a deal to play Ichabod Crane in Sydney Sweeney's gothic erotic thriller at Sony, completing the full reported lead trio for Honey Trap Productions' debut film.
Nicholas Galitzine is in final negotiations to play Ichabod Crane in Sony Pictures' gothic erotic thriller "Hollow," per Fangoria and World of Reel, both citing a Deadline exclusive published November 5. The deal, if it closes, would complete the full reported lead trio for the film and fill the last open role that was explicitly noted as uncast when Belmont Cameli joined as Brom Bones in September.
Sydney Sweeney plays Katrina Van Tassel and produces through Honey Trap Productions, her company. Cameli plays Brom Bones. Lindsey Anderson Beer writes and directs from her own debut novel, which Putnam will publish in fall 2027. Sony acquired "Hollow" after a competitive bidding process, per Dread Central.
What Galitzine Brings to Crane
Galitzine's recent credits track a consistent register. 'Red, White and Royal Blue' (2023) and 'The Idea of You' (2024) both positioned him as the romantic outsider who arrives and reshuffles a stable arrangement. That dynamic maps directly onto Ichabod Crane's function in the story: the educated stranger who rides into Sleepy Hollow and complicates everything. Beer's novel, per Deadline's earlier reporting, centers on Katrina rather than Crane and frames the legend as a dangerous mystery with gothic and erotic elements. That framing makes the supporting Crane role something specific: the catalyst, not the protagonist.
Galitzine's most recent high-profile project was 'Masters of the Universe.' Taking the character-actor slot in a gothic ensemble alongside Sweeney, in a thriller produced by her own company and co-produced by Margot Robbie's LuckyChap, is a different kind of commercial proposition.
Honey Trap's First Film
Sweeney produces through Honey Trap Productions alongside LuckyChap Entertainment and Beer's Lab Brew banner. When we covered the Brom Bones casting in September, the last note in the article was: "Ichabod Crane's casting is the next announcement to watch." The Galitzine reports are that announcement.
LuckyChap was co-founded by Margot Robbie and produced "Barbie" (2023). Sweeney's "The Housemaid" grossed over $400 million at the global box office in 2026, per early reporting. Sony committed to "Hollow" before Beer's novel had been published, buying into the concept and the talent at manuscript stage.
What Is Not Yet Confirmed
As of November 5, no deal had been signed. Representatives for Galitzine, Sweeney, Sony, and the production entities had not issued statements in response to the Deadline report. "Final negotiations" means terms are advanced but not complete. If the deal does not close, Crane is uncast again.
Production on "Hollow" is reportedly targeted to begin in early 2027, per World of Reel. Beer's source novel is scheduled from Putnam in fall 2027. No release date for the film has been announced.
