Victoria's Secret Moves to L.A., Books Tate McRae for Sunday

She dropped "Housewife" yesterday. On Sunday, Tate McRae performs at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles alongside Megan Thee Stallion, Megan Moroney, and KATSEYE, in the brand's biggest live bet since 2018.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returns Sunday, October 18, in Los Angeles, its first West Coast production after two years in New York. It streams live on YouTube at 4:30 PM PT, under the theme "Fandemonium." The musical lineup is entirely women: Megan Moroney, Megan Thee Stallion, Tate McRae, and KATSEYE, announced September 29 by Victoria's Secret.

McRae's timing is pointed. On Wednesday, she released "Housewife," the lead single from her forthcoming fourth album. She told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show the song is "about a woman who can't be contained." The cover shows her in a string bikini pushing a stroller full of cash. The single drops on a Wednesday, and three days later she is on one of fashion's most-watched live stages.

The Brand That Paused, Restarted, and Moved West

Victoria's Secret cancelled its fashion show in 2019 under sustained pressure: Jeffrey Epstein's ties to former company executive Les Wexner, and years of criticism over its narrow definition of beauty. The brand retired its Angels and spent the next few years attempting a "VS Collective" pivot toward activist and diverse voices. Under CEO Hillary Super, per Fortune's February 2026 profile, the brand settled on a cleaner formulation: keep the bombshell heritage, drop the pressure to be perfect. Sexy is a feeling, not a prescribed look.

The show resumed in 2024 with Valentina Sampaio and Alex Consani, the first openly transgender models to walk its runway. In 2025, athletes Angel Reese and Suni Lee joined alongside nepo-generation models Lila Moss and Iris Law. This year's confirmed model list includes Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid, Candice Swanepoel, Paloma Elsesser, Ashley Graham, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, Precious Lee, Grace Elizabeth, and Liu Wen, per The Zoe Report.

The West Coast move comes with a specific justification. Adam Selman, Victoria's Secret's executive vice president and chief creative officer, said he wanted the show bigger and bolder than last year, and that no New York space could accommodate the planned production scale. "Fandemonium" is the working pitch: the show is framed around bringing fans further into the event, including open casting calls documented in a YouTube docuseries called "Angels Among Us."

What the Performer Lineup Actually Says

The four musical acts span country (Moroney), hip-hop (Megan Thee Stallion), high-energy pop with a Dolly Parton-inspired new album era (McRae), and K-pop (KATSEYE). None of them have built their careers as VS brand personalities. Megan Thee Stallion's "Hot Girl Summer" is her own brand proposition. McRae is launching a fourth album. KATSEYE are building global fandom. Moroney is one of the biggest names in the current country wave.

That is the strategy. Victoria's Secret is no longer trying to create performers in its own image. It is booking women who are already building empires in their own genres, then adding spectacle. The calculation: the show gets watched because of them, not in spite of them, and that reach carries further than a single brand platform alone could generate.

The brand's Q4 2026 financial results, reported earlier this year, showed comparable sales climbing 8 percent for the second consecutive quarter. That trajectory is what Adam Selman is trying to protect on Sunday. The show streams free on YouTube at 4:30 PM PT, 7:30 PM ET, and also through Victoria's Secret's Instagram and TikTok channels.

None of the four performers have issued statements characterizing their booking as a brand endorsement. The gap between "performer" and "spokesperson" is doing real work here: VS needs the cultural heat those names carry without the obligation to build them around the brand's identity. Whether that arrangement holds, and whether it generates the next quarter's sales number, is the test Sunday's show is running.
